Maybe what's going on here is a setup/false flag orchestrated by the "stock"/non-radical dems in an effort to "clean house" of the radical, unstable, embarrassing contingent, solidifying the party's image as "stable"/functional party. They can't help but realize their party's image has been effectively trashed by the irrational behavior of this radical contingent, and so have undertaken to squelch them--by eliminating their "respectable" front men, like Booker. Hey, stranger things have happened...
