  1. I think "seasonal affective disorder" is the name given to the appearance of behaviors attempted to neutralize the effects of a genetic predisposition to sensitivity to circadian rhythms. Look into certain experiments performed some decades ago, involving "altering" circadian rhythms, almost exclusively by regulating the daylight cycle. If I remember correctly, they did discover the genetic basis of the tendency to be more or less sensitive to the daylight cycle.
