  1. Comic culture? I don't get it, either. I tend to think, in the case of comics, the exposition is so sparse that the reader is forced to supply "reality" in the form of imagined detail. That activity creates a sort of bond with the symbolism the comic portrays. The reality the comic reader constructs is very personal, hence, compelling.
