  1. Nationalism is the natural state of a nation! It is organically correct! One nation, one people, however you define "one". Everything depends from that. So, nationalism doesn't belong in the same category as other relevant -isms; doing so only confuses matters. Ryan's effort to organize definitional bases is admirable, but the central problem remains unaddressed: perfect adherence to specialized definitions is an impractical expectation. Categorization is a natural expression of intelligence, but its utility is largely intellectual. Once you have your definitions all lined up in a system of interrelationship, it's easy to imagine you've accomplished something other than pigeonholing yourself; you can imagine you've found "the truth", or something similarly settling--a paradigm of sensibility. "To the man with a hammer everything looks like a nail". Your categorizational proclivities end up constraining your conceptualization, so you're always "thinking inside the box". Your categorization scheme IS "the box"...
