Isn't the reason you don't over-torque because it'll be harder to remove? If you got anti-seize going, you shouldn't have that problem--even at specified torque. So, yeah, you torqued harder, but the anti-seize will compensate, essentially. Maybe the reason you don't see torque specs for anti-seize...On the other hand, if the purpose of the torque spec is to ensure proper mechanical stress, not to avoid gradual loosening, but to compensate for eventual slackening in system components, it seems the extra torque could still serve a good advantage. I hope you got a good tip! You deserve it! At least, that's how I've always treated my mechanics...
