  1. From a google search: Silicone grease is safe on rubber and actually helps to keep it soft. Any other grease with a mineral oil base will degrade natural rubber. I've always used silicone paste (GM). Probably, though, by the time the rubber degrades importantly it would be time for a replacement, anyway.

  3. GM's got a drive profile for "bedding" the brake pads. Is that procedure not a thing, anymore?
