  1. Ford acts...damaged: her face lacks affect; her eyes are wide, steady, and vacant--in a word, crazy; she strikes me as wanting to fidget, but is restraining the urge. If I met this person I would feel disinclined to trust her much further than I could throw her, and would certainly take the first opportunity to remove myself from her presence.
