Resentment: "bitter indignation at having been treated unfairly". This "emotional value" seems to pivot, then, around one's conception of "fairness". What if the apparent unfairness of life is an illusion; what if life IS actually fair?! It can be if a wider perspective is adopted. The whole idea of life's fairness takes on different dimensions when one's current life is just one of many he'll experience. And, perhaps, each life's "harvest" is measured in terms of "character"...

"The hero myth" perspective trivializes the adventure of the human spirit! But it's an integral piece of the academic analyst's toolkit, the "scientific" approach...but to what? Understanding? How does that help! When what we're really talking about is the apperception of reality! Calculated analysis doesn't really figure into the immediate experience of that reality, though it may prefigure aspects of the experience. But such programming is seldom well-calculated...

Jordan talks a lot of "meaning", but the importance of meaning to him seems to be in the need for "meaning" evaluations in the process of interpretation and translation of human values--in other words, "abstraction". He's an academic, and that's what academics DO. I'd like to see him use more of the lexicon of intra-psychic operations, terms people can associate with very familiarly. People don't "balance order and chaos"; they "compare"--they JUDGE VALUE! Value judgement is the currency of intra-psychic operations.

HA! Jordan's a noodler! Welcome to the club!

Admiration = Love. You want to admire yourself as much as you admire some other people. What is hopeless is the state of never admiring yourself. What is depraved is the state of never admiring anyone else!

Chaos and Order are not of the same sort. What Jordan is calling, "chaos", is actually negative order. Chaos is something really quite different...

"Conscience"? It's been my experience that you get "warnings", of escalating severity, of trouble you're headed for. For example, first your car starts a little hard; then, it seems to lack power, too. Finally, it stalls for the last time while standing in traffic. You had warnings that your fuel pump was failing; had you taken action after the warnings you would have avoided the final trouble. "Conscience" is like that...warnings. But, it's not Jiminy Cricket. It's an automatic function of the habit nature to summarize danger signal information; "conscience" is the appearance, or presentation, of this information. Like a memo from a low level supervisor to his immediate superior...

Mental hygiene! Guard the gates of perception. Deal with the "death" issue once and for all! Just DECIDE!

What's the nature of his "pain"? I must have missed that part...

"If you have memories you can't let go..."...Why should you let go of memories? Because..."painful"? Why? Every "painful" memory sensitizes the awareness of reality...and offers a warning when you're about to make the same beloved mistake, yet, again! It may be fun to pretend, but it's foolish, as well...that's kinda why it's fun!

A recent study determined that creating melody generates new brain cells! So, go ahead and noodle that random melody!
