  1. Gender is a social construct; it's also a reality construct. Psychologically, your gender describes your awareness of your biological sex; awareness produces the "construct". Physically, your gender describes the characteristics of your biological sex; Nature produces the "construct". Socially, your gender describes the role, or function, of your biological sex in society, as others determine it, according to the prevailing cultural ambience. That's my best shot at shaking out the terminological confusion.
