  1. So what if something's a "social construct"! Social constructs are useful and important, especially to cultural consistency. Just calling something a "social construct" means nothing. The implication of such speech, however, is that social constructs are bad because they are, somehow, artificial, making them, somehow, illegitimate. The only way to get beneath this "implication" is to require explication.
