  1. Exclusive spaces are always divisive and provide relatively special advantages by virtue of that exclusivity. But this situation is proper and natural, as a certain order of group dynamics. In order for society to be properly polarized, enabling the societal dynamic that produces culture, certain norms are naturally instantiated. Sex is primary among these norms. The proper operation of society requires polarization. A perfectly homogeneous society can't operate organically...like the semiconductor junction that forms the basis of transistor operation and, so, all our digital technology, depends for its functionality on the carefully controlled IMPURITY of the semiconductor material. The polarity of homogeneous vs heterogeneous sets up a social dynamic that clarifies societal movement, for example. There are many other such polar dynamics operative in the direction of societal development. Social groups define themselves by the spaces they claim exclusively! No space? No identity!
