  1. The fear of death is instinctual, with links to the unknown and pain, in accordance with the individual's experience. Mostly, we don't really understand the depth and breadth of our fragility. A hidden physiological defect may end a life at any moment. But we are driven to understand/experience life's backdrop, death.
