  1. Thornhill's a smart guy, I have no doubt. However, he is having to correlate biological and psychological paradigms using the same terminology! So, it's about as illuminating as it is confusing. The "parasite-stress" theory attempts to explain the superiority of materialism: psychology is a function of biology. Reminiscent of the behavioralists...always sounding a dead note...
