  1. I'm concerned about the underlying implication that there is no value in the individual's life experience unless it is "successful" in sociocultural terms--a Godless perspective. The glorification of societal norms pressures the individual to conform to those norms, as if perfect society is achievable by the right set of rules. The dreams of social engineers, I find, oppressive to the nobler sensibilities, and, generally, colorless.
