  1. "Discerning truth from falsehood" is the ongoing process of living. The individual's standard of certainty, truth, is his experience. Everything else is compared to it, evaluating the "match" as resonating to some degree, or contradictory, which evaluates to some degree of falsehood. To the degree an "authority" is considered "trustworthy", its influence predisposes a "match", tentatively.
