I don't see how the idea of the God-Man violates Jordan's fundamental convictions. He accepts the "omniscience, omnipotence, and OMNIPRESENCE" character of God; Jesus said, "Ye are all sons of God", and, "Get thee behind me, Satan!", putting the Deceiver and Tempter in his proper place as backstop and support and thrust-block--He did not banish Satan. Man's evolution reaches its pinnacle in the God-Man. The atheist assumes the authority of God in denying His existence! Society assumes the authority of God in enforcing its standards of behavior. Government assumes the authority of God in enforcing the standards of Society. God sits atop every pinnacle, so there's a natural association of God with yourself when YOU sit atop a pinnacle...when you are the best at something, or have the most of something, stronger than anyone else, and so on in the style of competition. Self is the deity of the Godless...and God is the Perfection of Self.

Idk, Mr. Doyle, about psychosocial contagion as an explanation for the spread of "wokeness"! Contagion is still a mysterious phenomenon, I believe, so as an explanation it doesn't go very far. The susceptibility of academics to wokeness is surprising and disturbing, though. The implication is that the influence of wokeness bypasses the trained acumen of the academic mind. That's how a post-hypnotic suggestion operates! 🤔

"Gaze into the abyss until you see the light"? Sounds too much like poetry to be useful. The "light" goes ahead of you, always, illuminating your vision. Turning away from what you see requires severe justification! The knee-jerk response is the habit of turning away...from the potentially uncomfortable. The desire for comfort engenders behavior not conducive to spiritual development, making ease and luxury a potential detriment while appearing as the greatest good. Until you practice emotional detachment, it's difficult to learn to be aware of the mechanism of emotional attachment. You have to learn to observe and identify, without attaching to the object of observation in an imaginary extension of the physical senses to the object, in order to prevent an emotional attachment to the object.

If "authority" is "restraint" it's a proper opposite to "liberty". From the societal perspective, "duty" must restrain liberty, like a steam engine restrains the expansive power of steam in order to do useful work. Unrestrained liberty is a purely destructive influence. Societal restraint/authority appears as "norms" and "taboos" that form the character of the society. Every thing exists by virtue of the limitations of its extent!

"Hysteria" is akin to hypnosis: both are hyper-suggestible states. Perhaps, what we know about trance induction techniques might illuminate what we don't know about how the "hysteria" was induced...😷

Atheism is the heart of wokeness. When one's identity fails to transcend the mundane there is wokeness, a glorification of death and endings in imitation of transcendence.
