  1. We do what we do in order to have the experience we need in order to learn what we need to know. This process is the "Gift of Spirit" we each possess. The details of the process are unique to each of us, though.

  2. "I want what I want now!" is the product of very early development of stimulus/response complexes, an urge to explore, to TOUCH things, to know the environment. This process satisfies the survival instinct and creates the proper linkage between the stimulus of the physical senses and the response of the body to the senses--"it's hot--move hand!"...stimulus/response. Once these complexes are firmly instantiated, they serve automatically. Taken together, they compose the "habit nature", the "subconscious/unconscious mind".

  3. Satan offering Christ "power" didn't tempt Jesus, who has admitted that Satan is the "lord of this world". That's his function, purview and purpose. Christ's "kingdom is not of this world". "This world" is the sphere of FORCE RESOLUTION, meaning everything that happens proceeds inexorably according to the rules governing force resolution. All forces resolve here. And it ain't pretty!...or is it!?

  4. "In the beginning was the Word..." Words are psychical intonations of awareness rendered as symbols. Every grunt is a symbol of intent that something exists. Language is a sophisticated symbol system more nuanced than grunting but it carries the same intent: order. As a word resonates it elicits associations to experiential memory (including sensory memory) that further vibrate the psyche, contributing to the richness of experience. All these associations could be seen as "temptations"...or "spiritual leadings"...or just what they are: the architects of character.
