  1. "The poor you have with you always..."...because it's necessary for a number of reasons. You don't do a developing human being any favors by mediating his experience of reality by trying to limit the available dynamic range of his experience! What is the "good" that would be accomplished by limiting the possible extent of privation? I mean, outside of the self-serving virtue signaling angle, what is the good that results from this limitation of privation? The preservation of life? Is that considered a "good" in itself? Much "evil" is justified by the "preservation of life" imperative--especially one's own life! The preservation-of-life imperative is atheistic, though. When another second of life is the most important thing to you, you are godless, a mere human animal, and capable of willing "evil".
