"The only alternative to organizing your perceptions and actions in a hierarchical manner with something at the top is confusion and disunity. There is no third choice." But Jordan's manner when saying this indicated to me that the "organizing" he mentioned he considered to be CONSCIOUSLY DELIBERATE, a prioritization activity undertaken in full self-awareness. And I agree, as far as it goes, but there's more to it at a lower level. Our physical experience of the physical senses forms in the style and manner of those senses, a sort of "pre-organization", a format, a template, a constraint that conditions the experience...characteristically. The organizational model emerges from your interaction with the underlying expression--you "make sense of it", almost compulsively, drawing constantly from experiential memory to assemble an understanding, a relationship which renders the unpredictable predictable. This process of accommodating reality has been ongoing since the moment of birth. Most of your perceptions and actions are organized spontaneously at levels of psyche below that of "casual awareness"...out of sight, out of mind...The organizing you are aware of will necessarily follow a known model, or pattern, from experiential memory. So, I guess maybe I'm suggesting a "third choice"--the non-existent one that Jordan mentioned. 🤗
