Any value you can "create" must depend from experience--there's no other possible source. Experience has a sensory aspect, an emotional component, and a mental articulation. Any value that does not derive from personal experience must be counterfeit. All your values are based, or rooted, in the experience of your body. Sensory experience engenders emotional experience, as stimulus/response cycles become habitual, yielding specific complexifications corresponding to "emotions", feelings. Mental articulation is the fundament of mental experience wherein the sensation and the feeling are triangulated with a "name", a symbol that MEANS a peculiar merging of contexts, representing a unique position in time and space.
