  1. "Sanctuary" means "cop-free"! Making an ENTIRE CITY a sanctuary means no cops in the entire city, guaranteeing a criminal free-for-all! But for a locality to declare itself a sanctuary from federal law enforcement is to secede from the country! Any aid to these localities would be "foreign aid". But, the Constitution guarantees to all states a republican form of government; and municipalities are creatures of the state. This whole "sanctuary city" thing is patently illegal and unconstitutional. Perhaps, Biden is committing treason in allowing the self-declaration of "sanctuary" to go unchallenged!

  35. Reich's never been impressive. I've found him rather flippant over the years. The point, though, was historical revisionism: sounds nasty, until you realize it's SOP. Victors write the history; historians carry the tone of proximal influences into inappropriate contexts, distorting historical context. What's most unusual for me is to hear it seriously proposed that the historical record should be altered for political purposes!! Perhaps the ease with which this notion was launched and accepted is the scariest thing.

There are hints of an intelligence that just fails to materialize. He puts words together, but just describing his despair at not being able to match the power of a Trump or Spicer. His willingness to use violence offensively is so off-handed it seems he doesn't realize the import of it.

  47. I think there should be a legal case for considering each of a president's terms in isolation: once Trump is reelected, his earlier term's behavior should become irrelevant and unactionable. The people have made a NEW ELECTION that cannot be effectively overturned on the basis of a previous election. An entirely new impeachment effort should have to be mounted, as, at that point, Trump would, effectively, be a NEW PRESIDENT. His reelection invalidated concerns over his earlier term's activities...the people effectively voted AGAINST impeachment by his reelection.
