I wonder what proportion of people understand what Trump was doing in asking for a "favor"! That percentage understands relationship-building principles and processes...probably not as well as Trump does, though. When you ask for a favor, the other party has a chance to help you; you've signaled your willingness to "owe him one". Nobody is in anybody's "pocket"; it's about building trust. Only trust-free bubbles burst on the world stage...
