  1. "The death penalty" is a legalism. Self-defense is an inarguable right! Self-defense includes all defense of self, eh? It can't be known ahead of time which item of property will save your life. Theft is an assault on my person, regardless of any immediate component of "violence", a false standard. No "reasonable prosecution", just acceptance of the sovereign right to life. Besides, the life of a thief is virtually forfeit--it likely won't amount to anything of any positive value to society. Rabid dogs are best dead.
