  1. If your IQ is less than 87 the military won't take you, as the military determined by exhaustive testing and analysis that it would be prohibitively expensive to accept such a person. It's a reasonable standard that should adopted generally to separate socially functional from the socially dysfunctional, who will need special assistance and a limitation of personal freedoms and rights. Similarly, the homeless have to be so separated, to get the mentally ill off the streets. I don't think the collective political will exists...yet.
