How do you undertake to discuss "self-awareness" without addressing "awareness"? "Everybody knows what awareness is", right? hehe...The primary problem of philosophy is language; a consistency of terminology is crucial. At 4:24, you say a lot of our emotions and thoughts occur for no reason! My personal experience of over a half century in this pursuit is that your conviction is decidedly incorrect! Your life experience is the dictionary of your inner language; you cannot think of anything you've not experienced. And all your thoughts and "feelings" are associations of elements of your past experience, whether you can "make the connection", or not. Complexes of image sequences drawn from memory in response to your state of awareness in the moment characterize the "self-awareness", as you like to differentiate it without distinction from "awareness", though, you hit on the essential distinction as "reflection". Normal "animal awareness" is direct, not self-consciously aware. Only the human being can be aware of being aware--but even that is not necessary, as many people demonstrate by their daily lives. You seem like a fine young man, and I wish you the very best in your efforts. Oh, and I wouldn't worry about getting too carried away with this stuff--the demands of day-to-day living should take care of that!
