Austin is a big city now

canada is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been
45
@mosquito.hawk1 its expensive and stop leaving repetitive comments.
10
@mosquito.hawk1 I know tech workers who make 150k who struggle to find a place to rent. You need to be realistic
9
@mosquito.hawk1 I think you may want to consider your mental health. Many places are much easier to afford and offer a better quality of life. California was ranked 50th. Where I live I would need 3 jobs and maybe 4 for minimum wage. If you want to be serious and discuss how to make a living maybe you should look into economics and how hard California is to afford and live in.
8
@MarshallSteeves you're right
7
@mosquito.hawk1 you obviously have no understanding of economics and apparently bye Felicia is all you got so have a good time with that.
7

@mosquito.hawk1 you being a troll isn't getting things done. Go do something productive and get off of youtube.
4
Good choice. I'm thinking the same thing. California is just impossible to live in now

As a young person living in California, it is really hard. I am in the bay area and all homes are 1 million plus and if you aren't a tech worker forget it. Traffic sucks because everyone and their dogs like to drive solo. It also isn't community filled. It is honestly really divided and often times defeating. It's a great state but when you try to work and you can't even go to enjoy California because it is so expensive what's the point anyway.
1
where I live getting by would be like 40k or 50k but you still need roomates and to live comfortably its about 130k or more... I am just trying to live
1
@nottawa86 west coast. Bay area norcal
1
@nottawa86 tech money and lack of supply. The market requires you to be rich and If you're not its gonna be a struggle. I'm in a fortunate situation but not everyone can be. But yeah most homes are selling for 1.5 mil or more. And its not an area higher end than any other. Its insanity. I think that's a big reason people are leaving California is quality of life impacted by cost of living
1
@nottawa86 you're right so for me I don't fot their box. I hate to be the typical Californian going to another place but it's hard. I may stay if my opportunities and dream I'm aiming for work out but if not I'll be somewhere else
1
@nottawa86 I hear that. A good amount of Californians dont actually make a lot of money. I make under 25k a year so I'm not trying to buy the state and increase costs of homes. There is a negative stigma and attitude from other people against people just trying to make a way for themselves. Personally I'm a moderate and see both sides as important in politics but yeah I understand why other states can be frustrated with the change. I guess you just want to educate new residents about the way of life so they can adapt and being their own flare that doesnt change the core or DNA of the town or city. What would you change about it?
1
@bigshambala yeah Portland seems to be unable to handle the growth and it's bad now
1
@dougfeldick4963 is rent affordable
1
@telebambam rent where I live is 4,000 on average for like a 3 bedroom. I don't think Oregon is that expensive
1
@paulsmallriver6066 or you'll welcome new people with open arms and be less of a dick. I'm very into the house market so for you to say keep looking is an insult. We have many Asian immigrants but we welcome them. It's apart of change. Maybe the things you say are best unsaid
1
@paulsmallriver6066 I actually don't know why I said that. My bad
1
Very accurate as someone that lives right off of Bird avenue near downtown.
