@touchdown8769 The real empire is the US hegemony. It is Philippines, influenced by the US, who violated other countries territory and undermined regional stability and peace. If name calling is all you can do, then I suggest you go back to school.

Philippines claiming a disputed island with a rusty ship is hardly any international order.

@touchdown8769 UNCLOS official court is ICJ or ITLOS, part of UN. PCA is a commercial institution, not part of UN but rent the same building with ICJ at Hague. So it is a clever play. Arbitrary process aside, it needs both parties to agree to refer to 3rd party as arbitral to judge their case. China disagreed, did not participate, and did not pay the cost. All cost paid by Philippines to create this drama.

@touchdown8769 Western freedom of speech these days: "Believe what we tell you. Anyone who disagrees is paid."

@touchdown8769 When you blindly accuse people with opposing views as bots, totally disregarding their arguments, you are the real bot.

@touchdown8769 When Spain sold Philippines to the US for $20M, none of the islands were listed in any legal document. When Philippines filed independence with UN, none of these islands were listed in Philippines legal documents. In contrast, after Japan surrendered at WW2, UN and UN Security agreed to returned all these islands to China. It is on the UN record.

@_uwu_9992 Your information is misleading. According to the Treaty of Paris in 1898, the Treaty of Washington in 1900 and the Convention Between the US and Great Britain of 1930 which defined the territory of the Philippines, the western boundary of the Philippines is delimited by 118 degrees east longitude. The Huangyan Island (Scarborough) and Nansha Islands (Spratly) are completely to the west of 118 degrees east longitude. They are not Philippines' territory.

@_uwu_9992 The South China Sea Arbitration violated the basic principle of state consent in international law. The award is illegal, null and void, and has no binding effect.
2
@_uwu_9992 What is UNCLOS tribunal? It is the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) based in Hague. It is not a UN entity and does not have legal enforceable powers unless the disputing parties pre-agree to its ruling. China did not participate in the arbitration.

@_uwu_9992 When China claimed sovereignty over those reefs, Philippines was still not a country. Moreover, Spain or the US, which colonized the Philippines at that time, also had never claimed sovereignty over those reefs.

@_uwu_9992 If you had paid attention to history, the Spratly and Paracel Islands belonged to China way before Philippines made claims to the Spratly. In fact that claim was before and after WW2. Even when the Philippines was a US colony, the US made no claim. However, when Marcos Sr was president, in 1979, he claimed the Spratly as belonging to the Philippines, only after oil/gas was found in the South China Sea in 1978. What a coincidence.

@_uwu_9992 Except Philippines which is controlled by the US, ASEAN countries all at peace with China.

@_uwu_9992 China has always been a peaceful country, despite the propaganda to the contrary. It’s not China that’s been waging wars and destabilizing regions for decades.

@_uwu_9992 Philippines claiming a disputed island with a rusty ship is hardly any international order. If China has not exercised restrain, nobody would be able to station on that rusty ship years ago.

@_uwu_9992 China supports the freedom of navigation but will defend its territory from any provocative action to maintain peace. After WW2, China legally took over & administered the South China Sea Islands, including Huangyan Islands, in accordance with the Cairo Declaration and the Potsdam Proclamation. China owned those islands long before WW2, but these declarations are the legal basis after WW2. Unlike your so called arbitration which is just a one-sided story, non-binding and has no legal basis.
