  1. When I was in Kaui, a ferry that went from island to island, taking tourists around was not allowed to land at Kaui. The locals were beyond fed up with their home being treated like Disneyland. I couldn't blame them after talking to them...

  2.  @LuvBorderCollies  I agreed with the locals feeling, because it was so apparent that they were being overrun. I also had the experience of growing up in Palo Alto in the 1960s, when it was a beautiful, quiet, university town. It was incredible there. So peaceful! Then, of course, it became a tech giant, completely destroyed by millionaires and crowding. I never go back to visit, because it was ruined so badly. Those golden, rolling hills around Stanford University are now solid buildings. It just broke me. I hope that the people on the islands can save their homes. Too much of anything is terrible. I live now in Texas, and we have a ranch which is still pristine and where you can walk and ride all day in solitude. It is in the Hill Country and Texas vineyards are suddenly taking off on the ranches around us. I'm thinking, "Here we go again!" I hope it doesn't turn into Napa Valley, Ca.

  4.  @barrylitchfield250  How wonderful!! When I visited Hawaii, I fell in love with the locals, the nicest people in the world if you're respectful! I love my memories of such a beautiful world and the people who live there.
