Every account of Caesar depicts a man of astonishing charisma and a steel trap mind. No matter what he faced, he seemed to have easily out maneuvered everyone around him. He suffered from epilepsy, and the ancients sometimes called it a gift of special powers, and the person who had it to be in touch with the devine. I often wonder what kiind of leader he would make in modern times.

Aleksanteri Rеijo I just looked in and was so fascinated by the comments! Caesar was a title, but I was referring to the most well known Caesar, Julius. The man who put Cleopatra on the throne. History is often written by the victors, but, oddly enough, even his enemies admired him and wrote about him. There were many stories from all sides that survived and gave a good idea of the kind of man he was. There is still much to be discovered and added to this portrait of a very complex man...

David Schneiter I was referring to Julius Caesar of Caesar and Cleopatra fame. Caesar is a title of respect, but most people today associate the word with Julius. So I should have clarified it.

@davidruss718 I am interested in your reply. I'm not sure I agree with it completely, because Ceasar actually fought in wars and did a lot himself before getting older and besotted by the idea of total power. Trump and Putin never fought their own battles at any time, always cowardly sleazing out of range and getting others to do their dirty work...
