I knew someone who got into the beginning of the cell phone industry, when only a few people had them. He was convinced it was the wave of the future and everyone and their kid would have one. Everyone else said it was just an expensive fad. He became a zillionaire and all those naysayers are trying to survive on their crappy social security checks. I also remember my friends in high school in the Bay Area getting into computer programming. They felt it was going to boom. They are all probably buying their fifth private plane right now. You go and make your mark, don't let anyone talk you out of it. I've seen so many people shoot for the stars and succeed way beyond their wildest dreams, you will too!

@Ignirium I liked your comment! I notice that most of us post comments in dramatic terms or screaming head lines to get noticed at all. It's a bad habit I've fallen into. I thought your reply was very insightful. I intend to adjust my comments to reduce the hyperbole and redlining. It's good to learn from each other. Thanks!

@Ignirium The internet is kind of like driving, the separation of space seems to bring our loudest selves that we would not show face to face. Since I am a writer, I tend to work alone, which I love, but it can lead to getting too excited or heated when emotional discussions come up (like money, racism, etc), and it's easy to go overboard (for me). The internet is a brand new way of communicating, historically, and I've seen a lot of evolution in it recently. I'm excited about the digital currency aspect of it. Even with all the potential problems, it's truly open to the world. I hope that these new vistas bring varied countries together and we become one instead of so divided. I've been saddened and ashamed of our policies in the USA, and sickened by the awful consequences that they have incurred, and the ugliness it's breeding now. I truly hope that we can rectify all this soon, and become a place I'm not ashamed of. This thread and your comments have inspired me to educate myself about the future of digital finance, and help me to hopefully help others. Thanks again!

The only insanity is your paranoia. Stating facts about digital currency is not preaching to submit to the evil overlord, or whatever you think is going to happen. You are the descendant of the people who were convinced that the telegraph, the phone, radio and television were the fast track to the end of the world. Same words, same dire predictions, same result: evangelicals enthusiastically using the "evil" new technology to fleece millions from the masses. You're being programmed and used all right, by your fear mongering conspiracies.
