@Thoomas2001 I'm glad you commented! I always want to hear how the people in the country of origin pronounce names we are familiar with, but may not have learned correctly. I can't remember the name of the museum where most of his work is (do you know the name?), it was not large, but my niece was just overwhelmed, she is an artist and loved everything there. She also said the people were very nice and friendly (As a 6 year old, her mom married a man who loved to travel a great deal, and she went around the world with them until she was in her late teens. I loved hearing her views on where they went, she had an incredible gift for talking to anyone, and as a beautiful little girl from California, always attracted a lot of attention). I am convinced if children could travel for a couple of years around the planet, they would become much better citizens of the world. The benefits would create interactive nations and understanding, instead of the ignorant xenophobia so prevalent today. I realize how expensive it would be, but I still think it would be great.

I am a huge fan of Van Gogh, and learned the correct pronunciation from my young niece, who toured Europe several times and visited the famous museum where most of his work hangs. I always pronounce it the correct way, and everyone corrects me...its never ending. I'm glad you posted, it makes me feel better. I like Van Gogh so much I don't want to say his name incorrectly!

I always loved that the Rolling Stones just wanted to be pure bluesmen when they formed their group, and they were great at it. Blues from 1920s Southern states was catching on in the 50s and 60s in England. After becoming well known for that, they were advised to write their own blues to make more money as songwriters, which was much more lucrative than just playing at that time. Mick and Keith were basically locked in the kitchen by their manager with a lot of inspiring liquor, and had fun putting their own twist on what was originally old slave singing communication (Slaves were not allowed to talk to each other while working, and sang their news like Christian hymns, which was encouraged). They used jazz timing because Charlie was a brilliant jazz drummer, and just invented a mixture that hit at just the right time in the right place. One of their very early shows on their first trip to America was the San Antonio Teen Fair. Can you imagine? San Antonio in the early 60s was really like the south of 20 years earlier, but the kids just loved it. The parents not so much. (My mother in law STILL blames those bands for coming into their nice town and "stirring all those children up.. " 😂😂

Most people and things change. Whether they want to or not. If they didn't, you would watching the same video over and over. If you are unhappy with change, you may have an obsessive compulsive disorder, or just feel uncomfortable when things that you like do not remain the way you are used to. Maybe you don't care and are just noticing the difference...all are common to human psychology...
