WHY do people keep taking their dogs there?? Do you know? It seems pretty evident that having your dog on a leash to prevent an obvious danger is a simple solution, but, apparently, everyone just let's them go and hopes for the best. Since you live there, you are the person that can sensibly answer this question! Please answer, thanks!

I'm a dog lover too, but much more concerned about the millions of dogs inadvertently killed by their owners when they force them to run on hot Summer days. Dogs are not built like humans, and can go only a short difference before needing to rest. Humans are the only animal that can sweat all over, and most animal go for shirt sports than have to rest or die of overheating. People who run with their dogs usually end up causing them to have a stroke, then they think it "came out of nowhere". No, they killed them. NEVER over excercise your dog in summer or in hot humid weather. It's so simple, but people just don't believe it...

@willscott1171 We have neighbors who let their dogs out all the time, forever believing they will come when called, stay in the yard, etc., which they never do. I think a lot of people are just in denial about their control over their pets...it does look like a very nice spot though...

@willscott1171 I think I understand! There are some places that have a completely different feeling, hard to define, but is definitely there. I live in San San Antonio, Texas, right near the Alamo. There are some odd evenings where you can stand at the river and all traffic noises fade away, and there is a sense that everything has suddenly gone back 200 years. It's very strange, but real. There are hundreds of legends about people running into ghosts of the past, or seeing the defenders of the Alamo walking around looking worried and carrying old fashioned firearms...so haunted it's taken for granted now...
