  1. I never cared for Carl Akeley. He used the museum to fund his love for hunting, slaughtering the biggest and best animals in Africa by the thousands. He claimed it was so future generations could see how magnificent they are. What is in any way magnificent about a taxidermied, moth eaten dead animal on display in a museum that no one looks at anyway? I just hated his hypocrisy.
