  1. Canyon Lake in South Texas was made by flooding an entire town. It has a high number of drownings every year. Some friends of mine took a scuba diving class that took them there to explore the submerged town, very dangerous because of the lack of visibility and rotting structures, old cars, etc., that can trap divers. The thing that scared my friend, though, was the gigantic catfish they swear they saw down there. They said the catfish were as big as couches and very aggressive. It was too much for them...
