  1. Maria Von Trap wrote an autobiography I read back in the 70s as a kid. After she married Captain Von Trapp, he got busy making sure she was continually pregnant for the next 15 years, ending up with about 17 kids from both marriages (geez, dude, take a break. We get it, you're virile...). After escaping Austria, they ended up in New York and finally, Vermont, starting a ski lodge. Maria was a very strict taskmaster and everybody had to work hard all the time. She was mostly religious and humorless....
