  1. In Texas, there are some gigantic snapping turtles in the middle of our city! The lake where I walk my dogs has had some record ones, and they are extremely aggressive! In spite of their size, they blend in perfectly with leaves, sticks and plants. You don't see them until they strike. We had record rains a few times in the last several years and reports of alligators and snapping turtles in neighborhoods were all over. I never walk my dogs near the lake edge!!
