  1. In Fredricksburg, Texas near our ranch, is the Admiral Nimitz Museum, set right on the wide main street (built wide enough in the 1800s to turn a full mule team). Fredricksburg is a German town and I've been to the old Lutheran church when the sermon was still in German. Now it's a huge tourist town, with beer gardens ("authentic"!) Vineyards, wine tasting rooms and antique shops. Only 20 years ago it was still very quiet and had only a volunteer fire dept.
