In 5th grade I did a project on black Americans who invented or discovered something that changed the world. Everything from the women who did the math for NASA to be able to get astronauts into space, to Harriet Tubman, to the woman whose cancer cells changed medicine...and hundreds more...I had no idea, had never heard of any of them. It changed my life forever. My respect and admiration for so many brilliant persons who had to fight for every single thing against so many odds. Richard Pryor was never given the the kudos he deserved for his writing and creative genius. May his legend live in our hearts forever...

He was married SEVEN TIMES?!? I've been married 3 times, and it was too many! It gets totally exhausting to adjust to different people. It's fun when you're young and tough, as you get older, it's just another project you know you'll never finish, no matter what you tell yourself! Thank goodness I've been married to Mr. Right for over 30 years so I'm glad I kept trying till I got it right, but, that's it...7 marriages would be too many!

Same here!! I loved "quiet study" because I loved to read so much, my 4th grade teacher had escaped Argentina during some conflict and all she wanted was peace and quiet, as much as she could get, so we were all rewarded for good behavior with free time to do homework, study, read, as long as we weren't disturbing anyone. The only time I enjoyed school in the 60s! It sure beat having fire drills (every week!), and doing the duck and cover practice for nuclear war (also every week). Being "ready" in case of disasters was a hangover from WW2...

My friends grandma ran a brothel in the 20s and 30s downtown and it was very successful, since the first floor was a taco place, and the upstairs had the ladies, two big draws! She used to take care of my friends dad during the day while his mom worked, and all the women were his "aunts". He loved the company and attention. I wish I had more info, since it's always fascinated me!

@cyborgchicken3502 Thank you so much!!! I know of a few you mentioned, but not in depth, so I'm going on Amazon to get some books, it's always astonishing to me that color is considered something to divide people! When I get a tan, are people supposed to treat me differently!? It's insane...
