  2. Cars would not have been reliable back then anyway. You'd be repairing the car every 200 miles. It would take two months to cross the states by car in those days. Train was by far your best bet.

  4.  @bradboustead1682  100 miles a day back then would have been near impossible. lol, Just a mile would have been a trek. Think cow paths and lanes , no bridges, etc.
