YouTube decided to take the low road. My guess is that the ban won't last, but it shouldn't have been imposed in the first place. It's too easy for media moguls to define "hate speech" as anything they don't like, as they've done in this instance, and sanctimoniously silence the offender to applause from the Left. If I understand correctly, YouTube, like everyone else on the internet, depends on subscriptions or advertising revenue. The issue of free speech aside, the corporation has made the decision to deny its advertisers access to Jones's two million followers. I wonder whether commentators with larger audiences, such as Hannity, Limbaugh and Levin, will come to his defense? If they do, YouTube may find that it has made a bigger mistake than anyone in their boardroom might have imagined.
