  2. My main objection to the death penalty is that it costs more to process such a conviction than it would cost to simply imprison them for life. I'm thinking about taxpayers. How fucked up is our justice system? On Ohio, the death penalty comes with an automatic appeal that takes 8 years to grind through the courts. That was a few years ago I read that. It may be worse now. I do agree most people in jail shouldn't be there. Once again, tax dollars being frittered away.
