  1. Zelenskyy could have negotiated his way out of this mess before it got started, but he didn't. The same might have been said about the Finns. They refused to cede to Russia the territory it was demanding and went to war. The difference is that Russia has a stronger claim this time, as a significant percentage of Ukraine's population is ethnic Russian and Russian-speaking. Hitler used that same rationale to justify taking over German-speaking Sudetenland and Austria. Some things never change.
