@jamesrobertson9582 I know someone with a boa constrictor as a pet. It's insanity. I'm not afraid of snakes and won't kill one, but keeping them as pets is absurd. They belong in the wild in their natural habitat. I've encountered rattle snakes in the wild and simply stay away from them. They'll scurry away from a human as fast as they can as will all snakes, at least the ones I've encountered. When I was a kid I stepped on a poisonous snake sunning itself on a stone road I was walking on. It coiled up and hissed at me, I high tailed it out of there pronto! I don't know if it was a copperhead or a rattle snake. I didn't hang around to find out. Yes, that sort of encounter can be scary. I was bitten by a water snake when I was a kid when I caught it in a stream, but they aren't poisonous. He sunk his teeth into my hand between my index finger and thumb, which I knew was going to happen as I caught him the wrong way, close to his tail. I peeled him off my hand and took a moment to observe the snake, holding him behind the head so he couldn't "get me" again, then tossed it back into the stream. OK, I rambled on too long, here, too. Have a nice day. Don't be afraid of snakes.
