  1. In 1962 I read about Cades Cove in National Geographic. It wasn't' part of the park system then. People still lived there. I always wanted to visit, but never got around to it.

  2. When I was a kid I read an article in National Geographic about Cades Cove. The author had visited the place and interviewed one of the people that lived there. A few families were in Cades Cove then and it wasn't yet part of the park service. This was 1962. I still have that issue of NG. I've never been there but still think about Cade's Cove from time to time.
