  2. She did at 84 in 1969. I think the Queen Mum would have been the oldest living monarch at 101 and 7 months. She died about 5 months after this ceremony.

  5.  @mscott3918  Thank you for that information and sorry for mixing up all the Alices! :-) I googled Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester and got the right one. It's hard keeping track of all these royals. It's all I can do to keep track of the present queen and a few of her ancestors and family!

  7.  @vashnanerada8757  Over here in America most of us love the royal family. I find historical newsreel footage from British Pathe fascinating. Yes, I like Queen Mary, too. I'm sorry her voice was never recorded except briefly when she launched the Queen Mary. They're well worth keeping. I admire Great Britain for its traditions.
