  1. We have a big male cat we adopted about 18 months ago. We got a new kitten in March of this year. We weren't sure how it would go, but within 24 hours they were cuddling together. We have another big male cat about 3 years old who also took to the kitten. Even our 12 year old female who tends to be a little cranky with intruders into her house has tolerated the new kitten very well, even playing with him a little. I think adult cats do not feel threatened by kittens and tend to take to them easily. We've never had a problem assimilating new cats with the residents but we always get kittens.
