  2. A stray cat wandered into our yard 2 years ago, moved into our wood shed, and stayed around the house for 6 months. Winter was coming on and we had to do something. We had been feeding him and he became pretty friendly, but you couldn't hold him, so we had to trap him. We took him to our clinic to get neutered and vaccinated, then brought him inside. We kept him in the bathroom for a couple days, then gave him the run of the house. He loves being indoors and has shown no interest in going out again. We had 4 other cats when we took him in but it was no problem at all. The resident cats accepted him right away and even play with him. He's a very happy indoor cat now, healthy and well adjusted. Fortunately, he didn't have any diseases, but was full of ticks and fleas. We took care of that while he was still outside. He's with us more than 2 years now and quite happy. Now we can hold him all we want. He never hides or runs away. He's a big baby and loved by all.
