Debbie Rushing About 30% of Democrats, including, regrettably, educated elites, will vote for her regardless of the overwhelming evidence of her corruption. There's probably no point in trying to understand the motives of these people.They march in lockstep and do the party's bidding. They're a waste of time. There's another class of Democrat, however, that is capable of being moved and even repelled by the current revelations. All of Sanders's supporters, I would guess, fall into that category, as well as former Clinton supporters who can't stomach any more scandal. The Sanders people had her figured out from the start. The others finally have to admit that they've been let down by the party. Some will vote for Trump, some for Jill Stein. Most will probably sit out the election. The most optimistic members of the mainstream press are now viewing the contest as razor thin. I'm inclined to say her campaign is all over but the shouting. Why vote for a woman who, if she wins the election, is under threat of two indictments by the FBI along with her co-president, Bill Clinton? There's no way such a person can have any real authority or stature in the country, let alone on the world stage. Then there's the increasing awareness of her explosive temper. She, not Donald Trump, is the one who has engaged in nuclear saber-rattling with the Russians. She is the warmonger with the despotic character. WikiLeaks almost certainly has more material to release over the weekend and, perhaps, Monday. Meanwhile, it is no secret that the FBI is going after her with a vengeance. Obama's and Lynch's corrupt stonewalling is adding fuel to the fire. Inside the Beltway we have not a swamp but a huge garbage dump.
If Trump wins I hope he doesn't regret having done so when he comes face to face with the enormity of the task ahead of him.
