Appalachia coal is more expensive to mine than the Powder River Basin and is not as good quality. Cheap natural gas is also a big factor in coal's decline. These are market forces that are impossible to surmount. That said, we don''t need government environmental regulations that are the product of left-wing idealism, kicking the coal industry in the ass when it's already having problems. Coal is an abundant natural resource. It can be burned with less pollution. We have the technology and should use this resource that is projected to have about a 500 year supply right here on the North American continent. Obama doesn't give a damn about anyone but himself and his legacy. We can't get rid of him soon enough. Hillary will be a disaster for this nation. I hope voters are smart enough to defeat her at the ballot box in November if the FBI hasn't already put her out of business.
