  5. I'm no fan of Israel. It was ill conceived from the start and now wields way too much political power in the United States. The small country is a thorn in the whole world's ass. I'd like to see all ties with Israel completely broken rather than have them as our problem stepchild. I suppose there's little chance of that ever happening. If Trump can negotiate a Palestinian state, it will be his greatest deal of all time. All other presidents have paid nothing but lip service to the issue. Maybe this time something real will happen.
